# Virals: West Ham reportedly make approach for Aaron Ramsey

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/18/virals-yannick-bolasie-calls-out-madness-tomas-soucek-omission/) have been linked with what would be a sensational move to bring Juventus midfielder [Aaron Ramsey](https://readwestham.com/2018/11/29/former-arsenal-man-tells-ramsey-to-move-to-west-ham/) back to the Premier League once again.

Having originally surfaced earlier in the year, further [reports](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-il-centrocampo-e-da-rifare-dal-sogno-pogba-a-locatelli-e-ao-35724) have claimed the Hammers remain interested in the former Arsenal man.

This time the claims come from Italian outlet [Calcio Mercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-ramsey-non-si-oppone-alla-cessione-ma-c-e-il-nodo-ingaggio--57374), as cited by [WHU News](https://twitter.com/WestHamHerald/status/1394376874567028738) on Twitter, suggesting the Irons have already made steps towards making the potential summer deal become a reality.

There’s little doubt David Moyes will be keen to bolster his [central midfield options](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at the London Stadium – currently possessing only Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble as senior candidates.

Capped [61 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/nationalmannschaft/spieler/50057/verein_id/3864) by Wales, Ramsey has been a top-quality performer for many years at the elite level – including [262 Premier League outings](https://www.premierleague.com/players/3548/Aaron-Ramsey/stats) during his spell as Martin Keown hailed [‘real leader’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6913859/Keown-heaps-praise-Aaron-Ramsey-Napoli-win.html) in north London.

This season the 30-year-old has made [30 appearances](https://www.premierleague.com/players/3548/Aaron-Ramsey/stats) across all competitions – contributing two goals and registering five assists.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Ramsey would certainly offer an additional [sprinkling of experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/50057) to the Hammers squad.

Albeit perhaps a little late on in the Welshman’s [injury-hit career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/verletzungen/spieler/50057) to extract the best from Ramsey – his continued presence in a strong Juventus side proves there remains a performer in the midfielder.

Were wages to be reasonable and a [low transfer fee](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/marktwertverlauf/spieler/50057) possible, this could make an abundance of sense.
