# Virals: West Ham are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Aleksandar Mitrovic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/13/otd-west-ham-wave-goodbye-to-james-collins/) are believed to be keeping a close eye on Fulham striker[Aleksandar Mitrovic](https://readwestham.com/2019/06/14/real-betis-eye-west-ham-target-mitrovic/)ahead of the summer transfer window.

David Moyes will almost certainly [delve into the market for a frontman](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-plan-adam-armstrong-bid) at the end of the season and is said to be ‘convinced’ the out of favour Serbian has plenty to offer in the Premier League.

That’s according to Turkish football journalist [Ekrem Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur), as reported in the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9568431/Fulham-braced-battle-cling-Scott-Parker-following-Premier-League-relegation.html) and cited by [West Ham Fan Zone](https://twitter.com/WHUFCFZ/status/1392859922820370437) on Twitter.

This season Mitrovic has struggled to make an impact in a [relegated Fulham](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) side, manager Scott Parker opting to utilise Josh Maja and Bobby Decordova-Reid.

The 26-year-old has managed [four goals and registered four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aleksandar-mitrovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/51152) in 31 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Mitrovic would be thwarted with risk for the Hammers give the Serbian’s [checkered](https://www.premierleague.com/players/5879/Aleksandar-Mitrovic/overview) top-flight record.

Putting an 11-goal 2018/19 campaign to one side, the [£16.2million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aleksandar-mitrovic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/51152) striker has just [24 goals in 104](https://www.premierleague.com/players/5879/Aleksandar-Mitrovic/stats) Premier League outings.

That’s not to say there isn’t a worthy player in there.

Having scored [41 goals in just 64 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aleksandar-mitrovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/51152/verein_id/3438) for Serbia – the powerful ace [possesses all the attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115279/Show/Aleksandar-Mitrovic) needed to be an elite level goalscorer.
