# Virals: West Ham fans will love Tomas Soucek admission

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/13/virals-west-ham-reportedly-target-two-possible-striker-signings/) central midfielder [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/11/jamie-carragher-names-two-west-ham-stars-in-mnf-season-awards/) has been a hit ever since arriving one at London.

Initially signed on a short-term loan deal, the Czech Republic ace soon earned a [permanent deal at the London Stadium](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12035297/west-ham-sign-tomas-soucek-from-slavia-prague-on-four-year-deal) and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Despite arriving in the midst of a pandemic the 26-year-old has taken to life in a new country with aplomb – scoring [12 goals and registering one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/283628) in 51 Hammers outings.

Unsurprisingly Soucek’s form has lead to [purported interest](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-bayern-interest-prompts-west-ham-offer-soucek-bumper-new-deal) from elsewhere, however, the dominant enforcer has told the [club’s official website](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/may/13-may/tomas-soucek-west-ham-uniteds-czech-ambassador-covid-life-london-and), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_/status/1392773580467888128) on Twitter, he is more than happy with life in east London.

> The biggest thing I am enjoying about life in England is the football: the training ground and the stadium. I am a little bit sad that stadiums are without fans, because the biggest thing for me – why I wanted to play here – is the quality of the players, of the teams, and especially of the fans. I miss them because I’d only played in front of them for five games, and I really look forward to them coming back.

Soucek also spoke about training on Hackney Marshes during the first lockdown and named his favourite Irons moment thus far as a [3-2 win over Chelsea](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52080261) last season.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Music to West Ham fans’ ears I’m sure.

David Moyes has a [real gem on his hands](https://www.sofascore.com/player/tomas-soucek/799041) in Soucek, especially alongside Declan Rice.

Building a team around that midfield duo with some smart additions to the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) could see the Irons in strong stead for many years to come.

Perhaps the Czech star might’ve been better served not giving away his love for Hackney Marshes – given he is [currently househunting](https://theathletic.com/2573332/2021/05/08/how-tomas-soucek-went-from-nothing-special-to-talismanic-leader-of-west-ham-united/) in order to escape adoring fans.
