# Virals: West Ham squad give Mark Noble a birthday to remember

[Mark Noble](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/06/virals-west-ham-dealt-damaging-injury-blow-to-mark-noble/) may command the respect of his teammates having outlasted many a high-quality Hammer during his [525 game](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-noble/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/31835) east London stint.

There was little in the way of holding back however as the now 34-year-old [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/08/kevin-phillips-tips-sam-johnstone-to-take-west-ham-number-one-spot/) icon got a birthday surprise on Saturday following a workout.

The man heralded as [‘Mr West Ham’](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2015/december/22-december/mark-noble-mr-west-ham) was covered head to toe in eggs and flour as the squad burst in – leaving Noble floored.

Far from angry over the situation and interrupted the rowing session, the club captain joined in the celebrations that were captured on Instagram by [Michail Antonio](https://www.instagram.com/stories/michailantonio/2569068014985106455/?hl=en) and [Jesse Lingard](https://www.instagram.com/stories/jesselingard/2569095215225159599/?hl=en).

As his teammates prepare to face Everton on Sunday at the London Stadium, Noble is working himself back to fitness having missed [West Ham’s 2-1 victory](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3429824) over Burnley on Monday night.

Despite remaining a regular feature in the matchday squad, the experienced central midfielder has found playing time hard to come by this season – featuring from the start on just [seven occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-noble/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/31835/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/379) in the Premier League.

If ever the team spirit within the camp needed rubber-stamping – this was it.
