# Virals: West Ham submitted as favourites for Andrea Belotti

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/05/virals-west-ham-fans-debate-declan-rice-inclusion-vs-everton/) have been installed as frontrunners for the signature of Torino striker Andrea Belotti this summer.

Having previously been [heavily linked](https://www.football-italia.net/168808/roma-and-milan-target-belotti) with AS Roma, the Hammers reportedly now have the ‘best chance’ of singing 27-year-old.

This somewhat left-field claim comes from Italian outlet [Torino Granata](https://www.torinogranata.it/primo-piano/mourinho-cambia-tutto-ecco-dove-puo-andare-belotti-121379) as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1389869944851075074) on Twitter.

The report claims [Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Roma](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11861/12296636/jose-mourinho-appointed-roma-head-coach-for-next-season) all but rules the capital club out of the running, although there is no word on how much the frontman could cost.

[David Moyes](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/03/virals-david-moyes-completely-rules-out-tammy-abraham-move/) will certainly prioritise a striking arrival this summer having allowed [Sebastien Haller to leave](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55576847) the club in January.

This season, Belotti, a [32-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/nationalmannschaft/spieler/167727/verein_id/3376) Italian international, has scored [12 Serie A goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/leistungsdaten/spieler/167727) and registered seven assists in 31 appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Noted for his aerial ability, the Torino captain has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Italy – scoring [97 goals in 244 top-flight outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/leistungsdaten/spieler/167727/plus/0?saison=ges).

Signing an experienced operator such as Belotti will bolster [Moyes’ ranks](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) no-end and provide a wholly capable foil for Michail Antonio.

[Valued at £36millon](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andrea-belotti/marktwertverlauf/spieler/167727) and with one year left on his current contract, there’s a chance the Irons could land the striker for less than the mooted £40million for Tammy Abraham that [Moyes deemed](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/tammy-abraham-chelsea-transfer-west-ham-b1841180.html) out of budget.
