# Virals: Declan Rice shows admiration for Manuel Lanzini performance

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/04/don-hutchinson-compares-michail-antonio-to-roberto-firmino/) superstar [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/03/virals-declan-rice-could-be-risked-for-crucial-burnley-clash/) has shown his admiration for the man taking his place in the West Ham midfield following his performance against Burnley on Monday night.

The Hammers battled back from a goal down to [beat Burnley](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56883236) at Turf Moor thanks to a brace from Michail Antonio.

In the absence of Rice and club captain Mark Noble,[reportedly outgoing](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/lanzini-psg-transfer-west-ham-20261606) Argentine ace Manuel Lanzini [stepped into the central midfield breach](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/03/burnley-vs-west-ham-united-premier-league-live-score-latest/) and shone.

Rice couldn’t resist hailing the 28-year-old on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/_DeclanRice/status/1389489645428281345?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1389489645428281345%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-37487855391955240192.ampproject.net%2F2104170104001%2Fframe.html).

> Twitter: What a performance from the boys last night! Pleasure to watch & I must say Lanziniii![😍](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f60d.svg)![😍](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f60d.svg)![💎](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f48e.svg) 4 MASSIVE games to go, we… https://t.co/GJgcczlqOc (@\_DeclanRice)

Lanzini who was making his [16th Premier League outing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manuel-lanzini/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/135853/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2020/verein/379) this season – completing his first full 90 minutes – earned a [Sofascore rating of 7.00](https://www.sofascore.com/player/manuel-lanzini/220315) for his night’s work, finishing with a 95 per cent pass accuracy and having made two clearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Richly deserved credit from Rice indeed.

Given how [little Lanzini has featured](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manuel-lanzini/leistungsdaten/spieler/135853), coming into a crucial game against tough opposition, the Argentine put in a sensational display.

Whether it proves to be enough to keep the ace at the London Stadium beyond the end of this season remains in doubt – however, a starring role in the [final four fixtures](https://www.skysports.com/west-ham-united-fixtures) could still be on the cards as a parting swansong.
