# Virals: Tomas Soucek named in EPL FIFA 21 Team of the Season

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/29/virals-declan-rice-gets-rivals-talking-with-social-media-post/) central midfielder [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/29/pundit-reactions-rob-lee-rates-tomas-soucek-for-his-rare-qualities/) has been named in the FIFA 21 Premier League Team of the Season.

Having recently been [named Czech Republic Football of the Year](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/march/24-march/soucek-and-svitkova-win-czech-footballer-year-awards), the award is another nod towards what has been a superb first full campaign in east London for the 26-year-old.

The former Slavia Prague ace has been an inspirational part of David Moyes’ side this term – scoring [nine times in 33 league appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdaten/spieler/283628) to push forwards the Irons’ European push.

Soucek was named alongside the likes of Mason Mount, Harry Kane and Kevin de Bruyne – illustrious company indeed.

Goals aside, the combative midfielder has been almost an ever-present figure at the heart of the West Ham midfield – earning an average [Sofascore rating of 7.12](https://www.sofascore.com/player/tomas-soucek/799041) – missing only the final moments of the trip to Fulham having been wrongly dismissed.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Richy-deserved acclaim for Soucek, albeit a few other Hammers may feel they had done enough to make the cut.

Declan Rice, Craig Dawson and Jesse Lingard will all believe they were in with a shout – although the latter only [started playing in the second half](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660) of the season.

Nevertheless, the Czech ace has been sensational this season and with [five games remaining](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results), more awards could yet be forthcoming.
