# Martin Keown believes West Ham move is ‘perfect’ for Tammy Abraham

Former Premier League winner with Arsenal Martin Keown believes a switch to [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/23/mark-lawrenson-predicts-miserable-evening-for-west-ham/) would be the ‘perfect move’ for [Tammy Abraham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/04/trevor-sinclair-a-huge-fan-of-reported-west-ham-target-tammy-abraham/).

The 23-year-old has been somewhat frozen out at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of German manager Thomas Tuchel, leading to [questions](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/news/tammy-abraham-chelsea-thomas-tuchel-20435902) over where his future may lie.

Abraham has started [just two league games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/331726/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/631) under the ex-PSG boss so far, sidelined for the FA Cup semi-final last weekend also.

As David Moyes prepares to enter the market for a new striker in the summer, with the England man touted as a potential target, Keown told[talkSPORT (Friday, April 23, 12.00pm)](https://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1619168400/1619175600/) that a cross London switch could be on the cards.

> (West Ham) would be the perfect move for him. Should West Ham have done that (sign Abraham) when Sebastien Haller was allowed to leave in January? West Ham are a little bit bare now at centre-forward. They haven’t got a centre-forward.

The Hammers will no doubt face competition for the Chelsea ace’s signature, with Aston Villa and Leicester City also [reportedly](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-abraham-transfer-chelsea-20443238) interested.

Prior to Tuchel’s appointment, Abraham had been a regular feature under Frank Lampard – netting [six league goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/331726/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/631) before the turn of the year.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing anyone from a direct Premier League rival often [comes at an inflated cost](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/transferrekorde/wettbewerb/GB1), and the feeling is this is a deal that would prove no different.

A £40m demand has been [mooted](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tammy-abraham-aston-villa-chelsea-20390869), exceeding the [six-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/nationalmannschaft/spieler/331726/verein_id/3299) striker’s perceived £36m market value ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/marktwertverlauf/spieler/331726)).

Monetary matters aside, Abraham would be an impressive coup for the Irons, one Moyes would likely [relish the opportunity](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/28-january/david-moyes-we-want-young-hungry-talent-club) to work with and help recapture his best form.
