# After 90: Vladimir Coufal jokes son has new idol during sunny kickabout

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/19/trevor-sinclair-claims-striker-void-will-cost-west-ham/) defender Vladimir Coufal has been nothing short of a revelation on the pitch since arriving in east London – putting the[£5m price tag](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/oct/02/west-ham-sign-vladimir-coufal-from-slavia-prague-5m-transfer-news) into insignificance.

Following what could prove to be a [damaging loss on Saturday](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/april/18-april/extended-highlights-newcastle-united-3-2-west-ham-united) at the hands of Newcastle United, the Czech Republic right-back has been unwinding in the sunshine with a kickabout with his young son.

Unlike his father, who [hasn’t scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/leistungsdaten/spieler/157672) for the club since his arrival, junior Coufal finds the back of the net with a left-footed strike [before heading for the camera](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1384129847115452416) and showcasing in-form Jesse Lingard’s famous celebration.

Having struck up a fruitful partnership with Slavia Prague when [signing Tomas Soucek](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12035297/west-ham-sign-tomas-soucek-from-slavia-prague-on-four-year-deal), the Irons heading back to the Fortuna Liga club to sign Coufal before the start of this season.

The decision has proven to be a wise one as the 28-year-old boasts an impressive [7.02 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/vladimir-coufal/138024) in 28 Premier League outings.

Who doesn’t want to be Lingard these days?

Perhaps should Coufal manage to[bag his first goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/157672/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/379) before the season is out, his son can learn whatever celebration he comes up with, as well as boosting the Irons’ European qualification chances.
