# Report: West Ham line up £15 million move for Sasa Kalajdzic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/06/report-west-ham-interested-in-fiorentina-youngster-dusan-vlahovic/) are lining up a summer bid for Stuttgart striker [Sasa Kalajdzic](https://readcrystalpalace.com/2019/04/22/palace-keen-on-sasa-kalajdzic/) according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9333395/West-Ham-join-RB-Leipzig-Roma-race-Stuttgart-striker-Sasa-Kalajdzic.html).

The Hammers have been quoted £15million for the [6’5 Austrian](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/profil/spieler/369567), who the report claims is also being pursued by AS Roma and RB Leipzig.

Said to be ‘monitoring’ the 23-year-old, the Irons could look to make Kalajdzic their Sebastien Haller replacement this summer [having failed to add cover](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-striker-transfer-window-19749082)for Michail Antonio in January.

In the time that has transpired since Haller’s departure, David Moyes has been forced to utilise Jarrod Bowen and [Jesse Lingard as false nines](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-utd/news/david-moyes-west-ham-can-get-the-best-out-of-jesse-lingard_433480.html) with Antonio’s [troublesome hamstring issues](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/oct/29/west-hams-michail-antonio-out-for-a-month-with-hamstring-tear) flaring up.

Standing at 6’5, [drawing comparisons](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/sasa-kalajdzic-interview-on-peter-crouch-comparison-vfb-stuttgart-striker-13397) to former England international Peter Crouch, it’s no surprise Kalajdzic is[proficient aerially](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/cologne-stuttgart-live-line-ups-stats-meyer-silas-gonzalez-kalajdzic-hector-14822), but the [twice capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/369567/verein_id/3383) Austrian ace also[possess strong technical ability](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/377271/Show/Sasa-Kalajdzic) and is fast becoming a clinical marksman.

In this seasons German Bundesliga, the sought after frontman has scored [12 goals and assisted teammates on four occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/leistungsdaten/spieler/369567) in 23 outings.

Often when a [giant centre-forward comes around](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1423134-the-25-most-powerful-strikers-in-world-football)the first concern is whether they are[technically profound](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1033787-world-football-20-most-awkward-soccer-players-in-the-world) as well as there obvious natural gifts – with Kalajdzic that certainly seems to be the case.

Six of the Austrian’s [13 goals have come via headers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sasa-kalajdzic/alletore/spieler/369567/plus/0?saison=2020&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&minute=&pos=&torart=&stand=) this term in all competitions, all whilst earning a highly impressive overall [Sofasore rating of 7.14](https://www.sofascore.com/player/sasa-kalajdzic/870038).

Despite what will be obvious connections to Haller’s time in east London when [signing a powerful striker from Germany](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49017405), at the reported £15m asking price and at just 23, this is as close to a no-brainer as West Ham may find.
