# West Ham fans delighted as Frederik Alves’ development revealed

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/04/fabian-balbuena-decides-to-leave-this-summer/) fans have been[reacting to a report](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-moyes-staff-excited-by-alves-earmark-major-west-ham-role-for-him-next-season/)highlighting the impressive start young Danish centre-back [Frederik Alves](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/04/frederik-alves-could-be-fast-forwarded-into-first-team-plans/) has made to life in east London.

The 21-year-old Dane [arrived in January from Silkeborg](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/22-december/west-ham-united-sign-promising-danish-defender-frederik) and was expected to remain as part of the Hammers’ Under 23s for the foreseeable future.

However, having suitably impressed in his short time with the club, Alves has already[made strides towards first-team action](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frederik-alves/leistungsdaten/spieler/542690) and has been earmarked as an option for David Moyes next season.

As [reports elsewhere emerge](https://www.claretandhugh.info/defender-now-tipped-to-move-on-in-the-summer/)claiming this will be Fabian Balbuena’s last season with the Irons and question marks[remain over Craig Dawson](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9197991/Watford-offer-West-Ham-chance-sign-Craig-Dawson-permanently-3m-month.html) and [Winston Reid for next term](https://www.brentfordfc.com/news/2021/february/brentford-sign-new-zealand-international-winston-reid-from-west-ham-united/) – Alves’ progression has come as music to the ears of the Hammers faithful.
