# Report: West Ham front of the queue for Lukasz Skorupski

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/03/west-ham-fans-debate-mike-deans-appointment-for-leeds-united-clash/) are reportedly leading the interest in Bologna goalkeeper [Lukasz Skorupski](https://readcrystalpalace.com/2017/08/14/palace-target-poland-international-goalkeeper/) according to a report from Italian outlet [Tutto Bologna Web](https://www.tuttobolognaweb.it/news/carlino-skorupski-unaltra-serata-con-i-guantoni/2/).

The Hammers are joined by Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace in their interest in the 29-year-old, although the east Londoners are described as being the main protagonists – [perhaps given the imminent requirement](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad).

A compatriot of[55-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-fabianski/nationalmannschaft/spieler/29692/verein_id/3442)Fabianski, Skorupski has been capped[four times by Poland](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-skorupski/nationalmannschaft/spieler/80894/verein_id/3442), a nation[awash with top quality stoppers](https://www.goal.com/en/news/2898/euro-2012/2012/05/28/3121049/video-profile-the-latest-in-the-line-of-great-polish-goalkeepers-) down the years, and has conceded[23 times in 17 Serie A appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-skorupski/leistungsdaten/spieler/80894) this season.

David Moyes may have begun to cast at least half an eye on the[‘keeper situation at the London Stadium](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad)as 35-year-old Fabianski enters the[final months of his contract.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-fabianski/profil/spieler/29692)

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Skorupski would have to be seen as a sideways move from the Hammers.

Although a regular for numerous seasons during [numerous spells in Italy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-skorupski/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/80894), much of the Pole’s football has been played in the[middle reaches of the Serie A table](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table).

If West Ham are serious about moving to the next level and [competing on a regular basis](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) with the upper echelons of the Premier League, Moyes should set his [sights a little higher than Skorupski](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-skorupski/marktwertverlauf/spieler/80894).
