# Report: West Ham keen to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal striker [Eddie Nketiah](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/18/kevin-campbell-eddie-nketiah-west-ham-good-opportunity/) has been named as one of three strikers [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/02/many-west-ham-fans-deplore-reported-interest-in-aaron-ramsdale/)could target this summer as David Moyes looks to strengthen his centre-forward options.

As reported by the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-chelsea-tammy-abraham-23588320), the Hammers have compiled a three-man striker shortlist of Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham and[Brentford goal scoring supremo](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers) Ivan Toney as well as Nketiah.

Moyes currently[only has Michail Antonio](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) as an experienced frontman having [sold Sebastien Haller](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55576847)in January, leaving room for at least one established striker.

The 21-year-old [England Under 21 star](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/nationalmannschaft/spieler/340324/verein_id/9565) is under contract at the Emirates until [2022](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/profil/spieler/340324)and manager Mikel Arteta is [reportedly](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/arsenals-stance-david-luizs-contract-19846503) willing to allow the youngster to leave.

Moyes knows Nketiah’s threat all too well as in his 14 Premier League appearances this term, the [‘extraordinary’](https://arseblog.news/2020/06/arteta-i-have-a-lot-of-faith-in-nketiah/)youngster has[only managed to score against the Irons](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3420838).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Nketiah would certainly appeal to the Hammers given his[scope to develop](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/eddie-nketiah-backed-massive-future-21373536)into a first-class Premier League operator.

Valued at[£18m by Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/marktwertverlauf/spieler/340324)and with a contract entering its final 12 months this summer, the likelihood is the Hammers would be able to land the youngster at a reduced cost which could ultimately prove a bargain.

Having [shone at youth level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-nketiah/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/340324) for both club and country, transferring that form to senior performances [hasn’t proved to be straight forward](https://www.sofascore.com/player/edward-nketiah/858194). But with nurturing and time to learn from the likes of Antonio, the Irons could be signing a [player with a huge future](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/two-footed-with-blistering-pace-arsenal-striker-eddie-nketiahs-future-is-now-0x6f0w3sd).
