# Duel: Pick your favourite Welshman to play for West Ham

As well as finding their players from further afield, [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/01/35m-tag-for-top-west-ham-target-abdallah-sima-denied/) has been a football club that has thrived on British talent – with Welsh stars no exception.

To mark the[nation’s day of celebration](https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/life/1403959/st-davids-day-wales-who-was-saint-david-how-celebrated-lockdown)on March 1 for the patron Saint David, we’ve set a duel to join the festivities and asked you to decipher your favourite Welsh Hammer.

Up until very recently, the[Irons squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) has almost religiously had at least one representative from the [nation that brought us the likes of Tom Jones, Dylan Thomas](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/50-greatest-welsh-men-women-7360487)and of course the eight former West Ham players you’re about to choose between.

From John Hartson’s[26 goals in 63 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.com/john-hartson/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3094) and [James Collins](https://readwestham.com/2020/02/10/west-ham-fans-blast-players-after-james-collins-reveals-training-ground-mood/)‘ prestigious [11-year spell](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-collins/transfers/spieler/12691) with the club to Jack Collison’s[unfortunate injury-plagued](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/feb/13/jack-collison-retires-knee-problems-insurmountable-peterborough) time in east London, everyone will have their favourite and we want yours.
