# ExWHUemployee drops Youssef En-Nesyri summer transfer hint

Reputable [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/18/fabian-balbuena-plans-contract-renewal-talks-west-ham/)insider [ExWHUemployee](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee) has hinted that the club could reignite their interest in Sevilla striker [Youssef En-Nesyri](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/11/west-ham-handed-boost-in-youssef-en-nesyri-pursuit/) this summer.

Hammers manager David Moyes [decided against signing a striker](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-striker-transfer-window-19749082) in January despite allowing Sebastien Haller to leave, leading to the possibility taht a [reliable scorer](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-ham-united/top-scorers) will be high on the list of priorities when the next transfer window opens.

Having [reportedly](https://theathletic.co.uk/2331714/2021/01/20/west-ham-youssef-en-nesyri/) had bids rejected by Sevilla for the 23-year-old Moroccan, Ex has claimed that the Irons still hold out hope of landing their man. He told the latest [West Ham Way](https://www.patreon.com/posts/twhw-podcast-new-47690256?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2Vzczo5Nzg4YmRiMy1kN2NkLTQ5OTktYTg4OS0zMmEzOTUyY2JjNmEifQ.dkOkQJTUBoUrMexGA5jD08sN-4YV_3YTkV6Dl3WIn_8) podcast:

> A forward will be the target in the summer. Sevilla have started to make moves to sign another forward which does suggest that the signing of for Youssef En-Nesyri is the one we are most likely to pursue. He’s someone we will look to pursue again in the summer.

[Recent reports from Spain](https://www.larazon.es/laotraliga/20210212/7d32ssvf5zgv5epieufs4k4nee.html) would back up those claims as Sevilla seem to be prepare for life after the Moroccan, who already has [13 La Liga goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/leistungsdaten/spieler/433049) this season.

Furthermore, to add to his impressive goal haul this term, En-Nesyri has been clocked as the [fifth-fastest player](https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/5-fastest-players-uefa-champions-league-season-2020-21-mbappe-salah) in the 2020/21 Champions League, coming in at 33.1 km/h – tied with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

For a short while it had seemed as though Moyes may have opted against signing anyone other than the Moroccan after [his comments suggesting](https://www.transfermarkt.com/west-ham-confirm-bid-for-en-nesyri-moyes-wants-to-avoid-another-striking-mistake/view/news/378183) that the club were unwilling to replicate mistakes of the past.

Although it was an undoubted risk not signing a striker in January, if it mean the Hammers can land an [emerging talent like En-Neysri](https://www.internationalchampionscup.com/future-star-spotlight-sevilla-standout-en-nesyri-taking-la-liga-by-storm) in the summer, it may just have been a gamble worth taking.
