# Many West Ham fans discuss ‘real worry’ over Tomas Soucek

A number of [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/16/david-moyes-praises-jarrod-bowens-role-in-west-ham-win/) fans have been discussing their concerns over [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/15/vladimir-coufal-hails-impact-of-tomas-soucek-west-ham/)‘s performance against Sheffield United on Monday.

The Czech Republic midfielder has been [superb this season](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/29/Show/England-West-Ham) and has rightly [earned plenty of plaudits](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/soucek-is-moyes-new-fellaini-mourinho-offers-admiration/5ifmefzjchli116qtt6td9bbo).

However, responding to a post from [West Ham Central on Twitter](https://twitter.com/WestHam_Central/status/1361475980238422017), some fans have been discussing the 25-year-old’s level of fitness after he fell below his usual high standards during the [3-0 victory](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55975613) on Monday.

Statistically, Soucek certainly fell below his most recent levels with an [Sofascore match rating of 6.9](https://www.sofascore.com/player/tomas-soucek/799041), as opposed to [7.7](https://www.sofascore.com/player/tomas-soucek/799041) in the Irons’ previous clash with Fulham.

Concerns over his fitness are understandable as he has been [ever-present in all 24 Premier League games](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/29/Show/England-West-Ham) for the Irons thus far, with only [two team-mates playing more than his 2,372 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/leistungsdaten/verein/379) in all competitions this season.
