# West Ham fans react to ‘reluctant’ transfer stance claim

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/11/west-ham-handed-boost-in-youssef-en-nesyri-pursuit/) could delve into the free-agent market in order to solve their striker crisis, according to popular insider [ExWHUemployee](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/10/exwhuemployee-west-ham-could-sign-free-agent-striker-transfers/), and plenty of the Irons faithful have reacted on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1359411352004100096).

Ex confirmed on his [West Ham Way](https://www.patreon.com/posts/injury-updates-47359641) podcast that the Hammers could be forced to sign a centre-foreward after both [Michail Antonio](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/michail-antonio-west-ham-latest-injury-news-b919210.html) and [Andriy Yarmolenko suffered injuries](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/west-ham-man-united-injury-19806195) in the past week, something the club were ‘reluctant’ to do previously.

The severity of the Ukrainian’s knee problem is not yet known but [David Moyes was sceptical](https://onefootball.com/en/news/west-ham-boss-moyes-admits-yarmolenko-knee-concern-32353714) in predicting a return.

Teenager Ademipo Odubeko played an hour in Tuesday night’s defeat at Old Trafford but [looked short of the level required](https://metro.co.uk/2021/02/10/david-moyes-explains-decision-to-substitute-ademipo-odubeko-vs-man-utd-14054223/), leaving the Hammers with a major issue up front.

These Hammers fans have passed on their recommendations, with the name of the [recently-linked Diego Costa](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/1356273716016144385) cropping up intermittently, whilst bemoaning the club’s apparent transfer market reluctance…
