# Football fans respond to David Moyes’ praise of Jack Grealish

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/02/liverpool-enquired-for-issa-diop-transfer-interest-rebuffed/) manager [David Moyes](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/02/david-moyes-caution-prevented-west-ham-using-30m-war-chest/) chose the opportune moment to lavish praise on an upcoming opponent during his [pre-Aston Villa press conference](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/february/02-february/it-happened-david-moyes-pre-aston-villa-press-conference) by claiming that [Jack Grealish](https://readwestham.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=58751&action=edit) is the ‘best player in the league right now’.

The Villa captain has undoubtedly been an [integral part](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jack-grealish/189061) of the turnaround in fortunes for the Midlands club who, like West Ham, [narrowly avoided relegation](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=274&ha=-1) last term but harbour [loftier ambitions](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) for this season.

The 25-year-old has recently earned international acclaim and, in just [19 Premier League appearances this season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-grealish/leistungsdaten/spieler/203460), has already amassed a staggering [17 goal contributions](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goal_assist).

Moyes’ comments have unsurprisingly [sparked a debate on social media](https://twitter.com/goal/status/1356559236566814720) as football fans countrywide have their say on the bold, but not entirely outrageous, claim.
