# These West Ham fans want to see Diego Costa signed

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/01/tony-mowbray-discusses-lack-of-offers-for-west-ham-target-adam-armstrong/)‘s well-documented[striker search](https://www.football365.com/news/west-ham-identify-new-target-reims-striker-search-boulaye-dia) looks to be ending as a thankless task as time begins to run out on the Hammers, although there is still time for some last-minute speculation.

This time the Irons faithful have had their fires fuelled by Italian journalist [Tancredi Palmeri](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) as he claimed [Diego Costa](https://readwestham.com/2021/02/01/report-west-ham-offered-diego-costa-in-shock-deal/) had been[‘offered’](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/1356273716016144385?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1356273716016144385%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadwestham.com%2F2021%2F02%2F01%2Freport-west-ham-offered-diego-costa-in-shock-deal%2F)a move to the London Stadium.

Available on a [free transfer](https://talksport.com/football/809963/diego-costa-free-transfer-atletico-madrid-arsenal-chelsea-striker/), it’s a transfer with little in the way of complication in terms of turning a deal around quickly – whether David Moyes would sanction such a deal for the 32-year-old[well-renowned troublemaker](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/apr/11/diego-costa-eight-match-ban-insulting-referee-atletico-madrid), however, is another question entirely.

Some desperate Hammers have had their say on the links as they face the prospect of entering the rest of the season with[just one senior striker](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad).

Here’s a pick of the reactions…
