# West Ham prepare ‘fresh move’ for Youssef En-Nesyri

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/28/west-ham-in-talks-to-sign-hwang-hee-chan/) are still without a second senior striker after allowing Sebastian Haller to leave earlier this month and are preparing a ‘fresh move’ for [Youssef En-Nesyri](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/25/agent-of-youssef-en-nesyri-explains-failed-west-ham-pursuit/), according to [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/west-ham-transfers-news-moyes-23395557).

The Hammers had seemingly made the Sevilla marksman their [number one priority](https://talksport.com/football/820053/premier-league-transfer-news-west-ham-sign-youssef-en-nesyri/) earlier this month after a relatively scattergun approach towards finding a replacement for Haller. However, with [reports of rejected bids](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-insufficient-27m-bid-youssef-en-nesyri-scoffed)and a steep asking price, it seemed as if David Moyes would have to seek out a more attainable target.

The 23-year-old may have earned another price hike last weekend with a [match-winning hat-trick against](https://www.goal.com/en/news/en-nesyri-moves-ahead-of-messi-with-second-sevilla-hat-trick/1vfbzelgvfndi10nvd2ziassj0) Cadiz in La Liga. Those three goals took the 35-cap Morocco star to [16 for the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/leistungsdaten/spieler/433049), 12 of which have come in the league – [one ahead of Lionel Messi](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/spanish-la-liga/top-scorers).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Another move for the Moroccan before Monday’s transfer deadline would be a bold one from the Irons and maybe the most expensive of [all their possible options](https://www.theguardian.com/football/who-scored-blog/2021/jan/13/five-strikers-who-could-replace-sebastien-haller-at-west-ham).

That said, En-Neysri is still relatively young and has already proven he is capable of performing among the elite, including [four goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/433049/saison/2020/wettbewerb/CL/verein/368) in this season’s Champions League.

Aside from [Odsonne Edouard](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) and [Boulaye Dia](https://www.football365.com/news/west-ham-identify-new-target-reims-striker-search-boulaye-dia), none of the centre-forwards [being linked with a London Stadium move](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/) can match the Sevilla hotshot’s goal tally. Therefore, it’s pleasing to see the Irons refusing to give up on trying to land his signature.
