# West Ham fans hail Tomas Soucek’s stunning performance v Palace

It’s safe to say [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/15/quiz-tomas-soucek-career-so-far-west-ham/) has endeared himself to many [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/27/crystal-palace-2-3-west-ham-player-ratings/) fans during his first year in east London and his latest goal-scoring exploits have only strengthened the love.

The Czech midfielder has developed a trademark of arriving on the scene at the opportune moment to strike and has netted an impressive [seven Premier League goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdaten/spieler/283628) this season. That tally makes the 25-year-old the [top scorer in the league](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goals) for the Hammers – not bad going for a defensive midfielder.

Soucek’s latest brace earned David Moyes’ side three points at Selhurst Park as they defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 last night, moving the Irons into the dizzy heights of [fourth in the table](https://www.premierleague.com/tables).

Duly awarded Man of the Match, these happy Hammers took to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1354183028881371148) to hail their [potato salad-loving](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9118947/Tomas-Soucek-shares-potato-salad-West-Ham-canteen-names-dish-him.html) midfield enforcer, who in the eyes of some is already earning ‘legend’ status…
