# West Ham make undisclosed offer for Edin Dzeko

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/26/west-ham-pole-position-jesse-lingard-loan-move-transfer-latest/)have made an undisclosed offer to sign [Edin Dzeko](https://readwestham.com/2020/08/20/west-ham-target-edin-dzeko-available-for-14-million/) from AS Roma, according to Italian journalist [Tancredi Palmeri](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/1354004472209539072).

David Moyes is hoping to bring the 34-year-old back to the Premier League as they look to fill the powerful striker-sized [void in the squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) left by Sebastian Haller’s [recent move to Ajax](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/08-january/sebastien-haller-joins-ajax).

However, Palmeri claimed that the prospect of a move to the London Stadium has been rejected for now before [linking Wolves](https://twitter.com/tancredipalmeri/status/1354009767614820352) with the former Manchester City target man in a subsequent tweet.

Dzeko looks almost certain to leave Roma this month after a [major fallout](https://www.goal.com/en/news/dzeko-set-to-leave-roma-falling-out-with-manager/1973t2csj0uu618mp7l10v9vjq) with head coach Paulo Fonesca. The grievance between the two stemmed from the club’s decision to dismiss team manager Gianluca Gomber, leading to the [two-time Premier League winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edin-dzeko/erfolge/spieler/28396) being forced to train alone.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

This could end up being a stroke of ingenious opportunism for the Hammers if they can land the Bosnian, who has an impressive [59 goals in 112 caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edin-dzeko/nationalmannschaft/spieler/28396/verein_id/3446) for his country.

Despite his advancing years, Dzeko still has plenty to offer at the top level, as proven by his [seven goals in 15 Serie A appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edin-dzeko/leistungsdaten/spieler/28396) this season.

Albeit only a short-term fix for Moyes’ squad, the talismanic striker has the [proven quality](https://www.premierleague.com/players/4151/Edin-Dzeko/stats) to help fire the Hammers to [European football next season](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), something which would put the club in a superb footing in the summer transfer market.
