# Fiorentina ‘considering’ Felipe Anderson move

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/20/west-ham-2-1-west-brom-player-ratings/) winger [Felipe Anderson](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/14/al-ain-in-talks-felipe-anderson-loan-deal/) is being considered by Serie A club Fiorentina for a move, according to a report from [Gianluca di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/fiorentina-eye-spartak-moscow-striker-kokorin-while-considering-felipe-anderson-as-a-potential-alternative).

The Brazilian, who has an [enviable record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/159372) in the Italian top flight from his time with Lazio, is [reportedly](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/west-ham-felipe-anderson-loan-19567281) looking for another solution after a [poor start to life](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/159372/verein/720) with FC Porto, where his loan spell is [set to be brought to a premature end](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/04/west-ham-felipe-anderson-end-loan-spell-porto).

Very much out of favour with the Hammers, Anderson was [due to spend the entire campaign](https://talksport.com/football/769580/west-ham-felipe-anderson-porto-loan-season/#:~:text=fel%20guy-,West%20Ham%20outcast%20Felipe%20Anderson%20completes%20exit%20with,Porto%20on%20season%2Dlong%20loan&text=Felipe%20Anderson's%20West%20Ham%20departure,loan%20to%20Portuguese%20club%20Porto.) in Portugal, before [struggling to break into Sergio Conceicao’s side](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/159372/verein/720). The 29-year-old’s Irons future looks to be in serious jeopardy as David Moyes goes in a [new direction](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=210&ha=-1) with his squad.

Despite his dramatic decline in form, the [one-time Brazil international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/nationalmannschaft/spieler/159372/verein_id/3439), who was [once described as a ‘terrific talent’](https://onefootball.com/en/news/robert-snodgrass-heaps-praise-on-terrific-talent-felipe-anderson-23139963?variable=20190331) by former West Ham teammate Robert Snodgrass, still holds a [Transfermarkt value of £22.5m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/159372).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

This ongoing Anderson saga ultimately looks to be an [exercise to try and recoup more](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/felipe-anderson-expected-to-be-sold-by-west-ham-united-3q3kp3vgd) of the [£36m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44810938) outlay on the winger from 2018. In his current guise, the Hammers wouldn’t get half of that fee, but a potential resurgence in Italy may see the loss reduced.

Having suffered a major deficit in the market with the [sale of Sebastien Haller](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11913/12181609/ajax-trying-to-sign-sebastien-haller-from-west-ham), the West Ham hierarchy will be desperate not to operate at such a margin for long.

Constantly losing money on players will hamper the recruitment, and we’ve already heard [murmurings from David Moyes](https://www.transfermarkt.com/west-ham-confirm-bid-for-en-nesyri-moyes-wants-to-avoid-another-striking-mistake/view/news/378183) of the club wanting to avoid mistakes in the market – with Anderson and Haller as prime examples.
