# West Ham with ‘chance’ to land Arkadiusz Milik

Perhaps the most intriguing of all the names linked with filling the [void left by Sebastien Haller](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/08/west-ham-sell-sebastien-haller-to-ajax-at-25m-loss) is that of Napoli ace [Arkadiusz Milik](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/12/west-ham-make-offer-for-arkadiusz-milik/) and there has been a new development which gives[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/13/roma-reject-pau-lopez-transer-bid-west-ham/) a ‘chance’ to prevail.

After it was [reported earlier this week by journalist Ciro Venerato](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-cheeky-bid-milik-redundant-august) that the Hammers had a €7m (£6.2m) bid rejected by the Serie A side for the 26-year-old, the Italian is back with a fresh update.

In an interview with [Radio Kiss Kiss](https://www.kisskiss.it/) (via [Spazio Napoli](https://www.spazionapoli.it/2021/01/12/calciomercato-napoli-venerato-kkn/)), Venerato has outlined the main contenders for the Polish forward.

> ”Milik can go to Olympique Marseille: the French side are a club where the Pole can land, Napoli continue to ask for more than 9 million and there’s also a problem with the percentage of resale. There’s also a chance he’ll go to West Ham: a chance offered by the agent.”

With his [contract at Napoli running out](https://talksport.com/football/790417/everton-carlo-ancelotti-napoli-arkadiusz-milik-tottenham-transfer/) at the end of the season, both parties will be hopeful of finding a January solution for Milik, a [56-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/nationalmannschaft/spieler/191891/verein_id/3442) stalwart for Poland.

The former Ajax man has fallen out entirely with Napoli this season, not making [a single appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdaten/spieler/191891) despite previously being a [trusted goalscorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891/verein/6195) for the Azzurri.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

A [consistent scorer at international level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/nationalmannschaft/spieler/191891/verein_id/3442) and [wherever he has been](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/191891) in club football, out of [all the strikers suggested to be heading](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/07/five-strikers-who-could-replace-sebastien-haller-at-west-ham/) to the London Stadium already this month, Milik is the one with the best pedigree.

Napoli’s [reported asking price](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2021/napolis-asking-price-for-arkadiusz-milik-is-e15m/#:~:text=RMC%20Sport%20report%20that%20Serie,existing%20contract%20expiring%20in%20summer.) of €15m (£13.3m) is some way short of his perceived [market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/marktwertverlauf/spieler/191891) and the Hammers would kick themselves if they missed out on him simply because they [wouldn’t meet the demands](https://twitter.com/NicoSchira/status/1346402946775453696).
