# West Ham Predicted XI: Stockport County (A)

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/08/moussa-dembele-snubs-west-ham-amid-atletico-madrid-interest/) set about their FA Cup venture for 2020/21 tonight hoping to avoid the ultimate third round giant-killing story when they [face Stockport County](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/09-january/moyes-strong-hammers-squad-set-stockport).

[David Moyes](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/07/west-ham-alerted-to-elkan-baggott-contract-rejection-ipswich/) will be hoping to excite the absent Hammers fans with a prolonged cup run as they look to build on their [positive start](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) in the Premier League.

However, with [plenty of history](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/gallery/25-greatest-cup-shocks-english-football-history) to go off in terms of cup upsets, the Hammers won’t be taking anything for granted alongside the River Mersey at Edgeley Park.

Often [living in the shadow](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3269/league-two/2010/10/18/2166012/goalcom-grassroots-stockport-countys-new-owners-plot)of their nearby Manchester giants, County are in the midst of a resurgence after[some time in the wilderness](https://thesefootballtimes.co/2016/07/22/stockport-county-and-the-fall-from-the-first-division-to-non-league-football/) and currently sit fourth in the National League under [club legend](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/jim-gannon-returns-stockport-county-10754650) Jim Gannon.

Moyes will be hoping to get [more minutes under the belt](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/31-december/david-moyes-returning-everton-michail-antonio-and-my-first) of Michail Antonio and he may see this clash as an opportunity to [further blood](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-david-moyes-said-benrahma-premier-league-b538970.html) Said Benrahma.

With the manager’s hands somewhat tied after the departures of [Robert Snodgrass](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/robert-snodgrass-west-ham-transfer-19589695) and [Sebastien Haller](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/08/west-ham-sell-sebastien-haller-to-ajax-at-25m-loss) this week, we have predicted how West Ham will line up for this one, with eight changes from the [team which started against Everton](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/everton-fc_west-ham-united/index/spielbericht/3421837) on New Year’s Day…
