# First offer comes in for rumoured West Ham target Arkadiusz Milik

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/05/paul-robinson-surprised-at-lukasz-fabianskis-contract-situation/) may have been pressed into action over any potential move for [Arkadiusz Milik](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/05/arkadiusz-milik-price-tag-could-pave-the-way-for-west-ham-swoop/) as journalist [Nico Schira](https://twitter.com/NicoSchira) reported that French club Marseille have made an initial offer to Napoli for the attacker.

Schira, a [journalist of some repute](https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/journalist-who-broke-sebastien-haller-to-west-ham-story-makes-claim-about-transfer-window-and-manuel-pellegrini-future/) especially when it comes to transfers, stated on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/NicoSchira/status/1346402946775453696)that the €8m (£7.2m) offered falls someway short of Napoli’s valuation and as such is likely to be rejected.

The Irons were recently credited with interest by Italian newspaper [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.pressreader.com/italy/corriere-dello-sport/20201228) and the affordable asking price should have perked those in charge at the London Stadium.

However, with Inter Milan and Juventus both sniffing around the 26-year-old, the Hammers will have to act fast if they are going to get stand a chance of landing the [prolific Polish international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891).

Milik [becomes a free agent in the summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/profil/spieler/191891) and clubs are free to discuss a deal with the [56-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/nationalmannschaft/spieler/191891/verein_id/3442)striker as of now.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

The 26-year-old is clearly a striker in demand and it’s easy to understand why. Valued at £19.8m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/marktwertverlauf/spieler/191891), Napoli’s asking price is perfectly in line with the player’s worth, with his current [lack of match action](https://www.sofascore.com/player/arkadiusz-milik/161325) and contract situation taken into consideration.

Whether or not the Polish forward would plump for a move to the Premier League is unknown, but Moyes and co may well kick themselves if they don’t at least ask the question.
