# Arkadiusz Milik price tag could pave the way for West Ham swoop

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/05/paul-robinson-surprised-at-lukasz-fabianskis-contract-situation/) could have been handed a boost in the race to sign [Arkadiusz Milik](https://readwestham.com/?p=57417) as French journalist [Mohamed Bouhafsi](https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi) reported of Napoli’s asking price for the striker.

The Hammers were linked with Milik last week by [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.pressreader.com/italy/corriere-dello-sport/20201228) and could now have a clearer shot at the wantaway Poland international.

Bouhafsi claimed on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1346143479668346883) that the Serie A club are demanding €15m (£13.5m) for the 26-year-old, adding that the asking price may have ruled out Atletico Madrid and Marseille from signing him.

In recent weeks, David Moyes has been [linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-transfer-news-moyes-23207810) with a move for an additional striker as Michail Antonio [suffers yet more injuries](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/players/michail-antonio-injury-latest-chelsea-19463182) and Sebastien Haller [continues to yearn](https://www.sofascore.com/player/sebastien-haller/149731) for consistency.

Milik has fallen out of favour in Naples after he [expressed a desire](https://www.90min.com/posts/6585964-arkadiusz-milik-asks-to-leave-napoli-over-concerns-of-permanent-starting-role) to leave the club last summer – a move which ultimately didn’t materialise. After joining from Ajax in 2016 for [£28.8m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/transfers/spieler/191891), he has [48 goals in 122 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/191891) for his current club, although he is [yet to make a single first team appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/191891) this season.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

West Ham have been presented with a glorious opportunity to at least have a tilt at signing Milik.

A proven elite level scorer who has [16 goals in European competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/191891), currently in the prime of his career and at a very affordable price, the Hammers should see the Polish marksman as their January priority over the likes of [Josh King](https://tbrfootball.com/journalist-claims-josh-kings-desperate-to-secure-west-ham-move/).
