# West Ham fans have mixed views on Issa Diop exit rumours

As the January transfer window opens, plenty of [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/02/kevin-phillips-tips-west-ham-target-rico-henry-for-the-premier-league/) supporters have been having their say on [Issa Diop](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/18/west-ham-insider-names-three-potential-january-outgoings/) amid speculation of a potential departure to Nice or Tottenham.

The 23-year-old has found himself down the pecking order this season as David Moyes has kept faith with [Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/leistungsdaten/verein/379) in particular for their fine performances at the start of the season.

Reliable Hammers insiders [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/mourinho-keen-on-diop/) reported of Spurs manager Jose Moutinho’s ongoing admiration of the Frenchman before [reports elsewhere](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/premierleague/)linked him with a move to Ligue 1 outfit Nice.

Since his arrival in east London from Toulouse back in 2018 for a [then club-record fee](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44522330) of £22m, Diop has made [78 appearances for the Irons](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/issa-diop/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/272622).

Many West Ham fans are appreciative of what he has brought to the team and do not want him to leave, whereas others are much more receptive to the possibility of cashing in on him.

We’ve collated a pick of the reactions from Irons supporters on Twitter:

> Twitter: @WHUFCFZ @lequipe Cash in (@IronsJoes)

> Twitter: @WHUFCFZ @lequipe I’d keep him he has the ability to be a top defender.. (@dazza7370)

> Twitter: @WHUFCFZ @lequipe Anything around 30m and i’d say we have to accept (@elliotwhu)

> Twitter: PLEASE TAKE HIM @SpursOfficial https://t.co/aMAZxhrrTu (@WHUOmar)

> Twitter: @WestHamViews\_ Nope! Rather keep him. ![💯](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f4af.svg) (@PooleShorty)

> Twitter: @WHUOmar @WestHamViews\_ He’s still young with room to improve, he was quite good at the start of last season + squad depth (@creedyszn)
