Reports from Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web linking West Ham with a move for former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle have been met with dismay from the Irons faithful.
Despite a unanimous clamour for additional attacking reinforcements in January, there isn’t much of a desire to see the 35-year-old turning out at the London Stadium.
The Irons have been tentatively linked with another aging ex-Premier League star in Diego Costa, histrionics included.
Pelle is available on a free transfer after he parted ways with Chinese club Shandong Luneng last week after scoring 63 times in 128 appearances for the club.
Having managed at least 11 goals in each of his three Premier League campaigns for the Saints, Pelle may have been regarded as a shrewd signing.
