West Ham are eyeing a shock move for striker Graziano Pelle, who is a free agent as of today according to Tuttomercato.
The 35-year-old Italian hitman most recently plied his trade at Chinese side Shadong Luneng, along with the likes of ex-Manchester United and Everton man Marouane Fellaini.
Having recently ran down his contract, the veteran attacker is said to be the subject of interest from Juventus and Inter Milan, as well as David Moyes’ side.
The Italian is not unfamiliar with the Premier League. The experienced scorer once had a reasonably successful spell at south coast side Southampton in which he scored over 20 goals in 2 seasons.
In a further boost to West Ham’s prospects of signing Pelle, David Moyes was reportedly a keen admirer of the striker during his first spell in charge at the club.

Given the player’s age, it is hard to see how Pelle would fit into any long-term vision of the board.
Given the player reportedly earned an eye-watering £260,000-a-week in China, such hefty wages would surely be unsustainable for a player that may have one eye on retirement in the near future.
It is true that Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller could use further competition given the effects of Antonio’s absence through injury.
A previous report highlighted Daniel Sturridge as another fancied target of Moyes, who is similarly a free agent.
However, the price of Pelle is simply too high – even if the Italian were to agree to a wage cut.
