# Insider claims West Ham aware of Arkadiusz Milik’s ‘availability’

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/31/west-ham-should-be-interested-in-diego-costa-according-to-insider/) insider [ExWHUemployee](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee) has claimed that the availability of Napoli striker [Arkadiusz Milik](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/29/west-ham-arkadiusz-milik-transfer-advantage-spurs/)has ‘been made known’ to the Hammers as the January transfer window opens.

Alongside central midfield, the striking department is the most in need of additions and [56-cap Poland star](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/nationalmannschaft/spieler/191891/verein_id/3442) Milik could provide the answer to David Moyes’ woes.

Moyes currently has [Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) as his only frontmen, on the face of it, not bad options. However,[Antonio’s injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michail-antonio/verletzungen/spieler/104124) coupled with [Haller’s inconsistencies](https://footystats.org/players/france/sebastien-haller) often leave the Scottish boss bereft of ideas.

During this week’s [The West Ham Way Podcast](https://www.patreon.com/posts/twhw-podcast-new-45575555), Ex discussed possible transfer options upfront including the speculation around a move for 26-year-old Milik.

> ”These players’ availability has been made known to us – players that we could realistically go for. Milik at Napoli, the Polish international forward. \[He’s\] struggled there a little bit, although he has got quite a good goals-to-games ratio still. He is someone who is a potential signing.”

The former Ajax man is yet to make an appearance this season, fuelling the [belief his future in Naples](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/milik-set-for-napoli-exit-confirms-gattuso/1ncb7nijjtvv21b8k0qqrqwd0b)is drawing rapidly to its conclusion.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

This[season’s hardship](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdaten/spieler/191891) aside, Milik has an [enviable goal record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891)in previous campaigns and would be a major mid-season arrival for the Irons.

A statement signing of this magnitude would be a huge boost for Moyes as he looks to steer his side to at the [very least a top-half finish](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=363&ha=-1)this season.
