# West Ham Predicted XI: Southampton (A)

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/28/west-ham-scout-rico-henry-brentford-transfer-rumours/) continue their hectic Christmas fixture list with a trip to high-flying [Southampton](https://readsouthampton.com/2020/12/28/saints-fans-hail-kyle-walker-peters-premier-league-tackles-record/) this evening and the Hammers need to get back to winning ways.

After making their [best start to a Premier League season](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/01-december/five-reasons-celebrate-our-start-season) for five years, a recent run of disappointing performances [culminating in poor results](https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/west-ham-united/form-guide) has left David Moyes’ side in danger of undoing all their hard work from the opening weeks of the campaign.

Sunday’s clash with Brighton yielded a draw for the Irons, having [trailed twice in the match](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12173493/west-ham-2-2-brighton-hammers-twice-come-from-behind-to-secure-draw) before Tomas Soucek rescued them late on.

Moyes made a[host of surprise selections](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-xi-vs-brighton-confirmed-team-news-starting-line-up-injury-list-latest-premier-league-today-b473921.html) for the clash at the London Stadium, with Ben Johnson included from the start and [Mark Noble](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/28/west-ham-fans-slam-mark-noble-performance-brighton/) kept in the team ahead of Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma.

Southampton [present a difficult task](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) when West Ham are attempting to end a [winless run](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results), but having [completed the double](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaQPfWXARbE&feature=onebox) over the south coast outfit last term, the Irons can be confident of a positive result.

Here’s how we think Moyes will set up his team this evening, with three changes in personnel and a shift in formation from [Sunday’s draw with Brighton](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3421821)…
