# Mark Noble comes in for criticism from West Ham fans after Brighton display

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/25/quiz-west-ham-january-signings/) captain [Mark Noble](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/03/mark-noble-could-leave-west-ham-at-end-of-season/) may be considered by some as almost beyond criticism for his [years of service to the club](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/31-december/mark-noble-voted-hammer-decade).

However, after [rare back-to-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-noble/profil/spieler/31835)starts culminated in the 33-year-old being [replaced at half-time](https://www.skysports.com/football/west-ham-vs-brighton/teams/428985) against Brighton on Sunday, many of the Irons faithful have given their verdicts on Twitter.

Noble was playing as the [most advanced of a central midfield three](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/27-december/team-news-hammers-make-one-change-brighton)  whilst summer signing Said Benrahma was [forced to watch on from the bench](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/fixtures-results/west-ham-team-vs-brighton-19525158) once again.

During his 45 minutes on the pitch, Noble lost possession four times and lost the only ground duel he attempted ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/mark-noble/9741)).

Despite being known as [‘Mr. West Ham’](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/31-december/mark-noble-voted-hammer-decade) for his years of loyal service to the club, [the Premier League stalwart](https://www.premierleague.com/players/3014/Mark-Noble/overview) was on the receiving end of some of the Irons’ faithful backlash on Sunday.
