# Tomas Soucek hailed by fans as he salvages a point for West Ham

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/26/west-ham-quiz-boxing-day-goalscorers/) midfielder [Tomas Soucek](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/22/tomas-soucek-praised-performance-chelsea-west-ham/) is developing a handy knack of [scoring big goals of late](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12158334/leeds-united-1-2-west-ham-hammers-up-to-fifth-in-premier-league) and was on the scene once again to [rescue a point on Sunday](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/december/27-december/goals-west-ham-united-2-2-brighton-hove-albion) against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The midfielder, who has been [linked with a move away from east London](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-bayern-interest-prompts-west-ham-offer-soucek-bumper-new-deal) in recent weeks, has drawn [comparisons to a former David Moyes favourite](https://www.goal.com/en/news/soucek-is-moyes-new-fellaini-mourinho-offers-admiration/5ifmefzjchli116qtt6td9bbo) in Marouane Fellaini with his almost unrivalled aerial ability.

Soucek headed his [fourth league goal of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/leistungsdaten/spieler/283628) and put in an all-round impressive display – as underlined by a [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/tomas-soucek/799041) rating of 7.7, the highest of anyone on show for the hosts.

The 25-year-old has been an [ever-present figure in the heart of the West Ham midfield](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/mins_played)alongside Declan Rice this season and many the Irons faithful have taken to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/home) to laud their ‘Hammer of the year’.

Here’s a flavour of the praise coming in for the Czech star after yesterday’s draw…
