# West Ham fans discuss possible Arthur Masuaku replacements

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/11/west-ham-learn-marcus-edwards-asking-price/) were dealt a blow on Thursday night when [Arthur Masuaku](https://readwestham.com/2020/10/27/arthur-masuaku-believes-west-ham-have-different-mentality/) revealed he has undergone knee surgery.

The DR Congo winger [turned wing-back](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/october/26-october/arthur-masuaku-centurion-leading-west-ham-uniteds-march#:~:text=Oct%2011%3A00-,Arthur%20Masuaku%20%2D%20The%20centurion%20leading%20West%20Ham%20United's%20march,out%20at%20Anfield%20on%20Saturday.) underwent an operation to rid himself of a pain he [claimed he has felt ‘for nearly two years’](https://www.goal.com/en-ke/news/injury-blow-for-west-ham-as-masuaku-undergoes-knee-surgery/1gs4cu8g9r68j16wj8myahp61d), leaving David Moyes with a void in his team for the foreseeable future.

The 27-year-old has played a [major part](https://www.transfermarkt.com/arthur-masuaku/leistungsdaten/spieler/181380) in the Hammers’ [impressive start to the 2020/21 campaign](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), and as Moyes considers his options for the game against Leeds tonight, the manager must find a suitable replacement quickly.

With the January transfer window around the corner, the Irons could dip into the market to find a long term replacement should Moyes wish to keep [Aaron Cresswell](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/08/paul-robinson-claims-west-ham-seeking-aaron-cresswell-successor/)in his new central defensive role.

In the interim, these members of the West Ham faithful have had their say on who should replace Masuaku in the team…
