# More Premier League interest in West Ham target Josh King

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/11/west-ham-fans-discuss-possible-arthur-masuaku-replacements/) have been listed for a long time as a possible destination for Bournemouth’s [Josh King](https://readwestham.com/2020/11/25/roshane-thomas-addresses-josh-king-transfer-rumours/) as the striker looks to make a quick return to the Premier League.

Having suffered relegation last season with the south coast club, the Norweigan [reluctantly remained a Bournemouth player](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/09/11/bournemouth-prepared-let-josh-king-leave-amid-interest-premier/) during the summer despite [rumours linking him with a switch](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54476714) to the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old, who has [48 Premier League goals](https://www.premierleague.com/players/3926/player/overview)to his name, is now believed to be attracting interest from a host of clubs. A report in the [Birmingham Mail](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfers-edouard-toney-19439054) named King as a potential January target for Aston Villa, as well as claiming that Newcastle United will be in for the forward.

With [17 goals in 59 caps for Norway](https://www.transfermarkt.com/joshua-king/nationalmannschaft/spieler/91059/verein_id/3440), the versatile forward has certainly cut it at a high level, although he has yet to find the net in [five Championship appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.com/joshua-king/leistungsdaten/spieler/91059) this term .

Recently, King [proclaimed](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-king-19119294) he still wants to leave the Cherries at a nearby juncture, saying: “It is a bit special to be a football player who has nine months left on his contract, we’ll see if I go now or in January.”

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

As David Moyes [reportedly experiments with Issa Diop](https://twitter.com/westhamcenter) as a makeshift centre-forward, there has perhaps never been a more obvious ‘I need a new striker’ plea from a manager. Even before [Michail Antonio’s latest injury setback](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/oct/29/west-hams-michail-antonio-out-for-a-month-with-hamstring-tear), the Irons’ squad look bereft of goalscoring depth.

King offers an affordable solution with a proven track record of goals in the Premier League, as [West Ham fans know all too well](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/mar/11/bournemouth-west-ham-united-premier-league-match-report).

This is a potential deal which should be revisited in January as the player seemingly remains hell-bent on finding a way out of his current club despite their [positive start](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) towards making an instant top-flight return.
