# West Ham Fans Love Insider Update Over Declan Rice’s Future

Fabled [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/04/hammers-likely-to-get-rid-of-great-servant-winston-reid/) insider ExWHUemployee has [claimed](https://www.patreon.com/posts/west-ham-way-new-44601028?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2VzczowYzQwYmZhNS1lYzVjLTQ2MGQtYjUwNi0xYmUxZjAzNjYyMWQifQ.F7-OUAZkQ7AdtC0y7TyMs38EdK2LKLvNuy-zzSkuqk8) that the club could look to offer [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/01/rice-ogbonna-var-west-ham-watkins-disallowed-goal-villa/) a new contract soon in order to prevent the much sought-after midfielder from leaving.

The 21-year-old has been a [long-time target for London rivals Chelsea](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/chelsea/transfer-talk/news/declan-rice-a-long-term-target-for-chelsea_424834.html), and [plenty of reports](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1360709/Chelsea-transfer-news-Declan-Rice-Frank-Lampard-latest-gossip-rumours) have suggested that the Blues would come back in for the midfielder in the near future.

However, speaking on his [West Ham Way](https://audioboom.com/channels/5019730) podcast, the insider delivered a promising update over the England man’s future, with a potential new deal on the cards despite his [current contract](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2018/december/28-december/west-ham-united-sign-declan-rice-new-long-term-contract#:~:text=West%20Ham%20United%20is%20delighted,14%2Dyear%2Dold%20schoolboy.) having plenty of time left to run.

Unsurprisingly, many of the Irons faithful have reacted with overwhelming delight at the prospect of hanging onto perhaps the [most prized asset](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/startseite/verein/379) at the London Stadium.
