# Insider Claims David Moyes’ New Contract Is Imminent

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/02/west-ham-fans-praise-angelo-ogbonna-performance-aston-villa/) are in talks regarding a new contract for manager [David Moyes](https://readwestham.com/2020/11/28/david-moyes-talking-points-west-ham-v-aston-villa/), according to [Sky Sports Insider](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12148688/the-insider-david-moyes-set-to-be-offered-new-west-ham-contract).

Moyes has lead the Hammers to fifth in the[Premier League table](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) following Monday night’s win against Aston Villa and has enjoyed a positive second spell at the club overall.

The 57-year-old was [relieved of his duties](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44140002) at London Stadium back in May 2018, only to be [reinstated less than two years later](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/dec/29/west-ham-david-moyes-manuel-pellegrini).

Since arriving back in east London, Moyes helped the club [survive relegation](https://talksport.com/football/734041/west-ham-all-but-secure-survival-win-watford/) last term before guiding the Irons to a promising start to this season.

It seems as though the hierarchy are determined to hold on to Moyes this time around and, with his contract [running out at the end of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-moyes/profil/trainer/450), they will reportedly make the offer of a renewed deal in the coming weeks.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

After the facial situation which [saw Moyes leave the club](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/11374693/david-moyes-has-left-west-ham-united) the first time around after just six months in charge, the club needs to nail down the 57-year-old as quickly as possible to avoid losing him for a second time.

Moyes has the start of a good thing going with his current crop and, after [recruiting well](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) in the summer, Irons fans can be rightly excited about the team’s prospects this season.
