# West Ham Fans Rejoice As Insider Delivers Angelo Ogbonna Update

West Ham insider [ExWHUemployee](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1326527466039603200) delivered some promising news to Hammers fans by confirming that [Angelo Ogbonna](https://readwestham.com/2020/03/09/hammers-fans-shower-praise-on-ogbonna/) had made a return to training.

The Italian defender, who earlier this year [received a surprise recall](https://twitter.com/azzurri/status/1312112697098477568?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1312112697098477568%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hammers.news%2Finternational%2Fwest-ham-star-angelo-ogbonna-gets-surprise-recall-to-italy-squad-two-years-after-last-call-up-but-david-moyes-will-be-worried%2F) to their national squad, limped out of the Irons’ last match before the international break with a groin injury against Fulham and was [expected to face a spell on the sidelines](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-angelo-ogbonna-groin-injury-aleksandar-mitrovic-collision-b57778.html).

Ogbonna has played in the middle of a trio of central defenders this season and has thrived in his new role [appearing in every Premier League match](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/leistungsdaten/spieler/48002). He has become something of a [fan favourite](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2017/september/18-september/my-favourite-match-angelo-ogbonna) since his arrival from Italian giants Juventus back in 2015, making [167 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelo-ogbonna/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/48002/plus/0?saison=&verein=379&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) in claret and blue.

With [Sheffield United up next](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) for David Moyes’ men, it was touch and go whether the former Juventus man would make it for that clash. However, the 32-year-old is back in training well ahead of the return of the Premier League and many Irons fans are delighted with the “great news” about the “immense” Italy defender…
