# Rumoured West Ham target Jesse Lingard Leaves His Agent

Reported West Ham transfer target Jesse Lingard has left his agent Mino Raiola this week \[as per [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/manchester-united/story/4231572/man-uniteds-jesse-lingard-parts-company-with-agent-mino-raiola-sources)\], leading to speculation that his future could lie elsewhere.

Hammers boss David Moyes [managed Lingard during his spell at Manchester United](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/20/manchester-united-aleague-all-stars-win) and this summer there was [plenty of speculation](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/west-ham-transfer-news-manchester-united-jones-lingard-a9605606.html) over a a potential reunion at London Stadium.

[ESPN’s report](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/manchester-united/story/4231572/man-uniteds-jesse-lingard-parts-company-with-agent-mino-raiola-sources) stated that Lingard ‘is eager to play more regular football’, something he may have to leave Manchester in order to find.

The 27-year-old’s [contract is up in the summer](https://www.fotmob.com/news/6aue73bamg2y1f3656eemgroq/lingard-signs-new-manchester-united-contract#:~:text=Manchester%20United%20have%20renewed%20Jesse,deal%20by%20a%20further%20year.) although there is a one-year extension option, but that seems unlikely to be activated given the England midfielder’s [lack of appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660) at Old Trafford.

The Hammers aren’t the only team credited with an interest in Lingard, with [another of his former managers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/141660/plus/0/verein/985/trainer_id/781) Jose Mourinho, now in charge at Tottenham, also [looking to forge a reunion](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4184860/tottenham-boss-mourinho-wants-club-to-sign-man-uniteds-lingard-sources).

With [133 Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141660/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=GB1&pos=&trainer_id=) at a club like Manchester United to his name, it comes as no surprise a number of clubs would be interested in giving Lingard a chance to resurrect his career.

Valued at £12.6m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141660/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=450) and with time running out on his contract, it is likely the Irons would be able to pick up the [24-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/141660/verein_id/3299) England international at a cut-price fee.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Whilst the last [18 months haven’t gone as planned](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/man-utd-liverpool-jesse-lingard-big-game-player-outcast) for Lingard, he is still just 27, so there’s plenty of time for the Manchester United man to revive his career elsewhere.

His versatility makes him capable of playing [almost anywhere across the attacking third](https://footballwhispers.com/blog/every-team-needs-a-jesse-lingard/), something which may pique Moyes’ interest, while former United midfielder Michael Carrick has hailed his style of play as “[unique](https://onefootball.com/en/news/manchester-united-legend-praises-unique-jesse-lingard-20514751)“.

West Ham would certainly be wise to attempt to save the attacking midfielder from his current purgatory at Old Trafford.
