# David Moyes Plays Down Said Benrahma’s Debut Chances

David Moyes has held his pre-match[press conference](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/october/23-october/it-happened-david-moyes-pre-manchester-city-press-conference)ahead of the clash with Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, with the Hammers manager dampening down the prospects of seeing a Said Benrahma debut.

### TEAM NEWS

The 57-year-old said: “We’ve got everyone in pretty good order. Seb Haller picked up an injury in training before the last game, but he’s trained this week and we’re expecting him to be available.

### Said Benrahma

On the chances of a first outing, Moyes said: ”Said Benrahma is doing well in training. He needs to get up to speed to where we’re at, but the way the players are playing is giving me the chance to do that.”

### The Mood In The Squad

Following last weekends joyous scenes as Manuel Lanzini’s wonder strike earned a draw, the Hammers have enjoyed a positive week: “I’d rather my players high than low, I’ve got to say they were magnificent to score three goals in the last ten minutes and score a goal like the one we did. They should enjoy it. It only got us a point, of course, we wanted three, but one was better than the situation we were in with ten minutes to go.”

### On The Opposition

West Ham have lost [their last eight Premier League meetings](https://www.11v11.com/teams/manchester-city/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/West%20Ham%20United/) against Manchester City, and Moyes is all too aware of the challenge: “We have to change that run. We have to do better, but we think we’re doing well and we’re an improving team.

The Scotsman also noted: ”I’d like to think we can give them a good game on Saturday though.”

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Not much to report other than the now unlikely chances of seeing Benrahma, certainly from the start. Unless the Irons boss is throwing fans and the opposition manager a huge curveball.

Moyes is perhaps right to be optimistic despite the quality remaining in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Manchester City travel to East London with plenty of[big-name absentees](https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/pep-guardiola-gives-injury-update-on-jesus-de-bruyne-and-laporte-63738799) and after an indifferent start to the season, this could well be the host’s chance to end that rotten run.
