# West Ham Could Have Made Breakthrough In Pursuit Of Said Benrahma

West Ham have reportedly moved closer to landing a £30million deal for Said Benrahma from Brentford, according to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/said-benrahma-west-ham-transfer-latest-brentford-breakthrough-a4570231.html).

The deal to bring the Algerian to the Hammers has been discussed for numerous days and was [rumoured to have broken down over the weekend](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/said-benrahmas-25million-transfer-set-22833104?_ga=2.5466416.2065519178.1602668941-1537486511.1588352392).

However, Benrahma could now be edging closer to a move to the London Stadium after a breakthrough between the forward and Brentford.

The issues, not reported in the article, between player and club look set to be resolved, allowing West Ham manager David Moyes to land his man for an initial fee of around £25m upfront.

The logistics behind the move, that must be completed before Friday’s 5pm deadline, were made harder owing to the 25-year-old being away on international duty.

Moyes has been desperate to reinforce his attacking options after the club allowed Grady Diangana left for West Brom earlier in the summer, and now could have his wish.

Benrahma has been in dazzling form already this season, backing up the remarkable 17 goals and nine assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532/plus/0?saison=2019)) last term, stats that helped fire the Bees to the brink of the Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Having made a decent start to the season picking up six points from the opening four matches, including a resounding 4-0 victory over Wolves. Now is the time to capitalise and ensure the club steer well clear of a relegation dogfight this time around.

The signing of the much sought after Benrahma would certainly go a long way to appeasing the fans, so were dismayed at the departure of Diangana.

Having also sanctioned the departure of Felipe Anderson on loan to Porto, Moyes was left a little short in terms of creativity. The arrival of the skillful Algerian should resolve that problem.
