Brentford winger Said Benrahma will undergo a West Ham medical later today according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/benrahma-to-undergo-west-ham-medical-later-today/).

The news of a medical comes with a sigh of relief from all associated with the Hammers who may have feared the worst over the weekend when it was [reported the deal was off](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/said-benrahmas-25million-transfer-set-22833104?_ga=2.211321366.2065519178.1602668941-1537486511.1588352392).

Now, after a breakthrough between the forward and Brentford, the 25-year-old Algerian international looks set to complete his medical ahead of a move [thought to be worth around an initial £25m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8838657/West-Ham-make-breakthrough-30m-pursuit-Brentford-star-Said-Benrahma.html).

Having returned from international duty, Benrahma’s medical will likely go ahead in London and will allow the tricky winger time to complete the move before Friday’s 5pm deadline.

Benrahma has been in dazzling form already this season, backing up the remarkable 17 goals and nine assists ([transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/leistungsdaten/spieler/290532/plus/0?saison=2019)) last term, form that helped fire the Bees to the brink of the Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

After narrowly missing out on promotion to the top flight last season, Benrahma will be relishing the chance to test himself amongst the elite.

Not only a fundamental requirement in terms of strengthening David Moyes’ squad following the departure of Grady Diangana and Felipe Anderson, but the signing of Benrahma also goes some way to appease the outcry of fans unhappy with the lack of spending.

Should the deal be completed, the Algerian will become the fourth new signing at the London Stadium after deals bringing [Craig Dawson, Vladimir Coufal, and Thomas Soucek to the club.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379)
