West Ham to bid £15m for Swansea’s Joe Rodon

West Ham United are set to make a bid for £15m to Swansea City for defender Joe Rodon, according to Football Insider.

On the back of the Hammers’ 4-0 win against Wolves on Sunday, David Moyes is still on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.

After perhaps giving up hope of signing James Tarkowski or Wesley Fofana due to the fees involved, it looks like Moyes could now be making Rodon his number one target.

Despite Sunday night’s performance, where his side kept clean sheet with a back five, there is no doubt that the squad at the London Stadium is in need of some more quality defenders and the 22-year-old Welshman could fit the bill.

Rodon has played over 50 Championship matches for the Swans and has represented his country four times, impressing on each occasion.

After guiding his hometown club to the brink of promotion last season and after a strong start this term, the Irons could be about to spoil the party with an offer that the Welsh club may struggle to refuse.

At 6’4, Rodon certainly possess the physical attributes to cope at the top level and Moyes seemingly wants to be the manager to have the opportunity to utilise thise skills.

Should £15m prove to be sufficient for the Welsh international, it is a deal that provides comparative value for money.
