# West Ham show interest in Joe Rodon

West Ham have shown an interest in signing Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon, according to [Jacob Steinberg](https://twitter.com/JacobSteinberg/status/1308720823327289345)of The Guardian.

The Hammers could look to the 22-year-old as their pursuit of James Tarkowski continues to hit a dead end with Burnley pricing their man out of a realistic move.

Rodon, as stated could also be an ‘expensive’ option as the Championship club tries desperately to keep hold of their best players.

However, it is unlikely the Welsh international would fetch the sort of asking price being attached to Tarkowski.

Elsewhere, it has been [reported](https://www.hammers.news/club-news/exwhuemployee-claims-west-ham-could-sign-defender-for-12m-shares-sullivans-response/) by the reliable ExWHUemployee that David Moyes’ side could land Rodon for as little as £12 million.

Rodon, who has four caps for his county, has played in all of Swansea’s matches this season and has helped the South Wales outfit keep two clean sheets.

The Swansea-born defender has made 50 appearances in the Championship since breaking into the first-team in 2018 and was a huge part in the run that saw the Swans make the Championship playoffs last term.

Whilst interest is currently in its infancy with no formal bid believed to be on the table, any links with quality centre-halves should be most welcome by fans at the London Stadium.
