West Ham are among several clubs interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan, according to a report from The Guardian.
The Hammers are joined by fellow Premier League club Aston Villa in their interest, as well as a host of unnamed other sides too.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has left out the 24-year-old from the Blues last two matchday squads, leading to heightened speculation about the midfielder’s immediate future.
David Moyes is desperately trying to sign new players before the transfer window closes, with a centre-back the number one priority.
However, the option to land a player of Loftus-Cheek’s quality, albeit on a temporary basis, cannot be ignored.
Loftus-Cheek, who has 10 England caps, has found himself on the outside of the Chelsea squad following a host of new summer signings, and could himself be looking to move on in order to find regular game time.
The London-born star had a major impact whilst on loan at Crystal Palace in 2017/18 before returning to his parent club where he became an integral part of the Stamford Bridge side.
Now, with first-team opportunities few and far between, the Hammers should be on red alert and try and force their way to the front of the queue to land the influential player.
