Turkish outlet Karar (via Sport Witness) have reported that European giants Galatasaray are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The report claims that the Super Lig club will request a detailed medical report on Wilshere before making any move, which is understandable given the Englishman’s injury record.
David Moyes is likely to be happy to let Wilshere go after the talented 28-year-old has failed to kickstart his career since joining the Hammers in 2018.
Once highly regarded as the next big thing in English football, it has been a tale of what might’ve been in recent years for the ex-Arsenal man.
A series of injuries and fitness issues have seriously hampered Wilshere’s career, his time at the London Stadium hasn’t been without its disappointments either.
Since arriving on a free the midfielder has made just 18 appearances scoring one goal.
Now as Moyes looks to piece together his squad for the 2020/21 campaign, getting fringe players like Wilshere off the books looks to be imperative to give the Scottish manager the funds he needs to bring in his own targets.
Should the 34 times capped England man depart the club this summer it will always be regarded a shame he couldn’t recapture his form as a Hammer.
