West Ham accept Celtic’s offer for Albian Ajeti

West Ham have accepted a bid from Celtic that will see Albian Ajeti move to Scotland on loan, according to Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports.

The deal will see Ajeti spend the entire 2020/21 season on loan at Celtic, and the Scottish champions will have the option to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent basis in the summer of 2021.

Ajeti is set to complete a medical with Celtic on Wednesday and could be announced as a Hoops player by the end of the week.

It looks like the £8m spent on Ajeti will go down as the latest in a long line of bad transfers by West Ham.

Whilst the club have brought in some decent players in recent years, they’ve also had some very big misses too.

Luckily, it looks like the signing of Ajeti won’t end up costing the Hammers a huge amount of money if he does sign for Celtic for £5m next summer.

David Moyes looks like he will be given some type of transfer budget this summer so it makes sense for him to move Ajeti out of the squad to make room for any new arrival.

matchday.
