West Ham’s Declan Rice linked with moves away

According to recent reports, West Ham could be willing to sell midfielder Declan Rice for £70m this summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United seemingly interested in signing the England international.

Quite where Rice will be playing next season will depend on a number of factors, plenty of which those who use Bet9ja will be familiar with.

The first is relegation. Provided the season resumes, West Ham are still in a relegation battle and if they go down, it seems very unlikely that they’d keep Rice as a Championship player.

The next factor is European qualification. Both Chelsea and Man United are in a battle to qualify for the Champions League and if one, or both, get the cash boost of qualifying for the tournament, then a big-money swoop for Rice becomes more likely.

It would be a huge blow for West Ham to lose Rice, but the best way for them to ensure that they don’t is to stay in the top flight and go from there.

If the Hammers can stay up, they should do all they can to convince Rice to stay, as the club will struggle to get better if they continually sell their best players.

matchday.
