West Ham fans discuss historic Arsenal scalp
West Ham fans have looked back on the historic win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in 2007.
The Premier League tie saw Arsenal dominate the game throughout but fail to score, despite having chances through Brazilian Gilberto and striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Then West Ham boss, Alan Curbishley, knew his side had to be at their very best to secure three points as the threat of relegation remained.
Hammers keeper Rob Green was excellent in between the sticks for the visitors as they looked to pull off a remarkable victory, and they took the lead when Bobby Zamora lobbed the ball over Jens Lehmann.
It was the first defeat for Arsenal since they moved to the Emirates Stadium, leaving West Ham revelling in an impressive three points which would eventually help them remain in the Premier League.
West Ham would eventually finish 15th in the Premier League that season with Curbishley improving on that position the following year, when his side would finish 10th.
